Applying unified field theory and ancient wisdom to elevate global consciousness and create lasting peace
Dr. John Hagelin is a world-renowned quantum physicist, educator, visionary leader, and global peacemaker. His groundbreaking work? harnesses the deepest laws of nature to unfold full human potential—and offers a powerful roadmap for individual and societal transformation.
John Hagelin, Ph.D., received his A.B. summa cum laude from Dartmouth and his Ph.D. in physics from Harvard. He conducted groundbreaking research at CERN (the European Center for Particle Physics) and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, leading to breakthrough publications in particle physics, astrophysics, and cosmology.
For over 25 years, Dr. Hagelin has led foundational research on human consciousness, showing that meditation can accelerate brain development, create higher states of consciousness, and—through collective meditation practice—substantially reduce crime and violence throughout society, even in war-torn areas.
He is President Emeritus and Distinguished Professor of Physics at Maharishi International University, and International President of the Global Union of Scientists for Peace (GUSP.org). In addition, as author of Manual for a Perfect Government and 2000 U.S. Presidential nominee of the Reform Party and Natural Law Party, he has advanced evidence-based, sustainable solutions to benefit all areas of government and society.
“Full mental and emotional potential—Enlightenment—is humanity’s natural birthright.”
– John Hagelin, PhD
President Emeritus & Distinguished Professor of Physics at Maharishi International University (MIU)—the world’s flagship institution of Consciousness-Based education.
International President of the Global Union of Scientists for Peace (GUSP.org)—an organization of Nobel laureates and leading scientists dedicated to nuclear disarmament and evidence-based solutions to crime, terrorism and social conflict.
Founding President, David Lynch Foundation (davidlynchfoundation.org)—an organization dedicated to bringing the benefits of meditation to underserved communities around the world
Founding Director, Institute of Science, Technology and Public Policy (ISTPP) – a leading think tank addressing healthcare, education, sustainability, and crime prevention
Works with Nobel laureates and leading scientists worldwide.
2000 U.S. Presidential Nominee of the Reform Party and the Natural Law Party, a political party dedicated to evidence-based, sustainable, prevention-oriented solutions. Under his leadership, the NLP achieved “major party” status from the Federal Election Commission and qualified for federal matching funds, fielding over 400 candidates nationwide in 1996 and receiving 2.5M+ votes.
Organizer of the Congressional Prevention Coalition in Washington, D.C., a bipartisan caucus exploring prevention-oriented policy solutions in healthcare, crime, and the environment
Featured speaker at global platforms, including the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates (South Korea, 2023; Monterrey, Mexico, 2024); United Nations World Meditation Day (2025); International Day of Peace (2025); and Emergency Peace Summit (Kiev, 2017).
Media appearances include ABC’s Nightline, NBC’s Meet the Press, and CNN’s Larry King Live. Featured in The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Los Angeles Times, and San Francisco Chronicle.
Dr. Hagelin’s research shows that enlightenment is humanity’s natural birthright — a result of balanced brain functioning attainable through meditation. Large-scale studies confirm that groups of trained meditators reduce crime and violence, creating a measurable “field effect” of peace.
1992
Founded the Natural Law Party – ran 400+ candidates nationwide.
1996–2000
U.S. Presidential candidate promoting prevention-oriented policies
1993
Led $6M Washington, D.C. project with 4,000 meditators — violent crime dropped 26%
2001–Present
Founded and directed the Institute of Science, Technology and Public Policy
Groundbreaking work in superstring unified field theory and dark matter research
Dr. Hagelin is the international president of the Global Union of Scientists for Peace, an organization of leading scientists dedicated to nuclear disarmament and evidence-based solutions to crime, terrorism, and social conflict. GUSP research has conclusively demonstrated that large groups of meditating, peace-creating experts can effectively defuse acute societal stress—thereby preventing violence and social conflict, averting terrorism and war, and providing a practical foundation for permanent world peace.
